Filed Under (Paul) by Ron on October-29-2008

It looks like Paul has now left Isidingo. It was inevitable that he was going to leave after all the drama of ‘killing’ Lettie. I think the final straw was when he went to the shabeen and Slu told him that he was not welcome here and ended up beating him up. How could he stay in such a community where everyone seems to hate him? He has done the right thing for himself and should just go off to the UK and start a new life.

Was Paul’s departure last night emotional? I think it was. It is always sad seeing an actor leave the show, especially one who has been on the show for a long time.

Farewell Paul and wishing you all the best.

Filed Under (Johnny, Lolly) by Ron on October-24-2008

Are we set to have a new couple on Isidingo? What started off as a ‘let me show you kiss’ between Lolly and Johnny the barman may turn out to be quite a heated relationship. For those of you that missed it, Lolly kissed Johnny whilst Jess and Calvin were watching. Lolly just wanted to prove a point to Jess that she is not after Calvin. At times I feel it is unfair for guys to be treated as a prawn like the way Johnny was used by Lolly.

But now it seems like Lolly is actually getting attracted to Johnny and this could lead to a little something special. Jess must be so happy that Lolly has a new ‘toy’ to play with but somehow I think Calvin and Lolly are still going to get it on. So do not relax just yet Jess.

Finally Vusi has apologised to Paul. This was long overdue but I am just thankful that Vusi realised that he was to blame for his wifes death. Now hopefully this will help Paul move on with his life but some how I do not see it being easy for him. The rest of the community will not be as apologetic towards Paul as they will still see him as the person who killed Lettie. Maybe it is best for Paul to move to the UK and start a new life there but with the way things are going, I think we are in for a twist in this story.

Filed Under (Nandipha, Parsons) by Ron on October-17-2008

Could the loss of Lettie be what brings Parsons and Nandipha back together? I certainly hope that the two can find each other again and bring back what they had before. I really was not happy when Parsons left Nandipha for Thandi. I don’t know what got into Parsons’ head at that time but now I think he is realising that Nan is the one who he can turn to in time of need. Parsons needs a shoulder to cry on now and he is turning to Nan rather than Thandi and Thandi is sensing that Parsons is not confiding in her. Serves you right Thandi for stealing someone elses man!

Parsons and Nan have both made mistakes towards each other in the past but they should kiss and make up again and it is a pitty that it has taken something like the death of Lettie for the two to realise that they are meant for each other.

Filed Under (Calvin, Jess, Lolly) by Ron on October-17-2008

Now that Lolly is back in the picture, Jess has reason to be concerned about loosing her man. We all know of the history between Calvin and Lolly and that it did not quite work out between them but now it looks like Lolly may decide to make a move on Calvin this time round. Where will that leave Jess? Honestly, I think that if given the option, Calvin would choose Lolly over Jess on any day of the week. Very few guys would turn down Lolly! Poor Jess, now she may get her heart broken if something comes out of a relationship between Calvin and Lolly. If I were you Jess, I would fight with all if have to keep my man!

Filed Under (Parsons, Vusi) by Penny on October-14-2008

Today we saw Parsons confront Vusi about the message Lettie left. It is clear that Parsons is angered as he thinks Vusi cheated on his sister and that was the reason Lettie got killed. Fair enough, but then Vusi came out and questioned Parsons about his relationship with Thandi. Yet again, I think Vusi was right to challenge Parsosn about that. Neither of them, Vusi nor Parsons has a right to challenge the other as they both have cheated on their wives. But then I think Vusi took it a bit too far by calling Thandi a ‘slut’. That was uncalled for and that is what triggered the skirmish between the two.

And I wonder how Nan was feeling as she was hearing all this talk between the two guys? If Nan was not there to break up the fight, things could have gotten interesting. I would have wanted Parsons to knock the ‘stuffing’ out of Vusi. Who would you have wanted to win the fight between the two?

Filed Under (Agnes, Parsons, Vusi, Zeb) by Penny on October-13-2008

One has to feel sorry for Ma Agnes more than anyone else on the show right now. She has just lost her daughter and then found out that her son in law was cheating on her daughter. What is making it worse is that this is the third man in Ma Agnes’ life to do such a thing. First it was Bra Zeb cheating on her, then her son Parsons cheating on Nan and now Vusi cheating on Leti. She must be thinking, why her? Why do all the men around her cheat?

Vusi seems to be spinning a story to them which I think they are going to buy. I thought that they would be more angry with Vusi than they are now but it still looks like there is some level of sanity in the house. I thought Bra Zeb and Ma Agnes were going to storm out of Vusi’s house when they heard the message from Lettie.

Filed Under (Barker, Goodwill) by Penny on October-9-2008

With all the talk today surrounding the future of the Springbok emblem, Goodwill asked Barker what he thought about the call for the Springboks to stop using the Springbok logo and they should start using the King Protea like all the other sporting teams in South Africa. This decision has not been welcomed by many especially Goodwill who can not seem to stomach the national rugby team being named after a flower. Barker was quick to tell him that the England team is called the roses but still Goodwill was not convinced. Goodwill was also confused by the difference between England and Britain, a difference most people can not seem to understand.

Goodwill would rather see the Springboks being called the Buffaloes. I somehow doubt that will happen Goodwill.

Now the drama begins! Vusi had thought that he had struck a good deal with Nandipha when Nan agreed not to tell the family about the message Lettie left of Ma Agnes’ phone. Nan had then told Vusi where Ma Agnes’ phone was but it was not there. I, like Nan had thought that Vusi had taken the phone and thus the whole family was thinking someone had stolen the phone during the funeral but lo and behold, Parsons is the one who had the phone all the time! So today a bald headed Parsons gives Ma Agnes her phone and she starts to go through her messages and she and Bra Zeb hear the message Lettie left before she was run over.

Now they know that Vusi was having an affair with Siyanda and thats probably the reason Lettie was standing in the middle of the road. Vusi is in deep water now and I can not see how he is going to get himself out of this mess. It was all well and fine that he could negotiate with Nan but somehow I do not think he will be able to explain himself to the Matabane’s.

What do you think is going to happen to Vusi?

Filed Under (Lettie) by Penny on October-8-2008

Okay okay, before you wonder what I am going on about, I thought I would just make it clear to you that Lettie, who is actually called Lesego Motsepe in real life is still alive in real life. We all know that Lettie passed away on the show after being run over by Paul but that was just part of the script. Lettie had been on the show for a wonderful 10 years and it was just time for her to move on and leave the show. According to a report on the Sowetan, Lettie will now take part in industrial theatre, straight theatre and poetry.

We wish you all the best Lesego!
