Survivor : Isidingo, commenced last night. Who will outwit, outplay and outlast the rest?

Im your host ‘The Blogger’ and this is our first episode of Survivor :Isidingo. We have four contestants who will battle it out for getting rescued and getting back to their ‘normal’ lives. Who will outwit, outplay and outlast the others? This is Survivor : Isidingo. Where only the fittest will get the prize. And here are the players:

Our first contestant, Kimberly Haines is a mother of one and works at a hotel. She is such a girl scout, the odds are stacked up in her favour, she is the most favourite to win. She ascertained where True North was, and started talking about having travelled North East and how they should walk back South West. That to me sounds like someone who knows her way around places and most importantly how to survive.

Contestant number is a shrewd, savvy, self made businessman, Barker Haines. Will all his business acumen help him out in the jungle or will it prove worthless?
And let’s not forget that his heart is still ailing and not yet fully strong. But he has the wits to make up for all his physical shortcomings.

Our third contestant is Barker’s longest adversary. She is evil, lethal, ingenious and has the killer instincts. She has been married more times than memory can detect and she is Cherel Le Roux. She was born a survivor, if anyone can survive, it’s her. She has the highest survival odds of the bunch. She is well equiped for all the challenges ahead, infact she does not mind getting her hands dirty. She is the contestant to watch out for, highly revered.

Our fourth and final contestant is Miss Harriet Thompson, she is Barkers longest serving P.A and confidant. She has the least odds for survival.

These are our four contestants. Survivors ready? Go!…Let the games begin.

The deal that Barker has proposed to Daniel is really unattractive in many regards. Firstly Barker gets all the mining rights and the potential ‘huge’ pay-off at the end, when the ultra mine starts bearing fruit. And not to mention the power that the mining rights would yield for Barker. His financial muscles will be greatly boosted by this. Now let’s look at what Daniel will gain from this deal, his mother and sister’s ‘freedom’. But can Barker really guarantee their freedom? Who’s to say they’ll succeed with their newly acquired identities? And to top it all off they’ll both be labeled fugitives, which means they’ll never have any piece of mind again. I ask you again, who will get the sweetest deal out of this? Yep! You’ve guessed it, the great Barker Haines.

Even Daniel’s attempt at a counter-offer is pathetic, because at the end Barker will get all the shares.

What’s my proposition, I hear you asking? I propose that Daniel set this up himself, help Marlien and Sofia evade justice by fleeing the country. Yes! I admit that Daniel does not have the dodgy contacts to make this happen (fake passports and the like), but he has one valuable commodity at his disposal, money. With it (money) many shut doors can easily open and he has the time to arrange this ‘flea plan’, let’s remember that criminal cases take a while, years even, before they can be concluded. So, that time while Marlien and Sofia are on trial and out on bail, will be all the time Daniel will need to set up the ‘fleeing plan’. So in essence Daniel doesn’t have to lose those shares to Barker at all. All he needs now is composure, so that he can gather his thoughts and make a rational decision.

But the way the Isidingo writers rushed this plot, clearly shows that they want to do away with the Le Rouxs.

Spare a thought on this issue…?!

Do you feel sorry for what has happened to Kimberly with her losing the baby, getting kicked out the Duncan by Barker and not being allowed to see Jodie? Or do you think she deserves everything she is getting her way?

Whatever you decide on, the fact is that Kimberly is not going to take this treatment she is getting from Barker lightly. It is funny to see her working at the front desk at the Duncan, especially when she used to ‘run’ the Duncan and was the boss. Imagine working somewhere and bossing around people and then one day, those same people you were bossing around are now your work peers on the same level, if not higher than you!

One person who is enjoying this is Harriette as she is making the most of it and putting Kimberly in her place. But Kimberly has come out and said that she will not take this lying down and she is going to fight to get rid of Barker and in the process takeover the Duncan. How she plans to do this, I have no idea? Is she planning to kill Barker?

Stay tuned and see what Kim has in plan. What do you think she is going to do?

It seem like Kimberly can not continue to lie anymore. Faro is winning this battle against Kimberly. Len confronted Kimberly about the baby and asked her if the baby she was carrying was his. Obviously Kimberly said no to Len but Len is not convinced and he wants a paternity test which he is unable to get without Kimberly’s consent.

So Faro decides to step it up a notch and approached Barker and told him that the baby Kimberly is carrying is Len’s. No we all know how much Barker hates Len. Credit to Faro for finding and pushing the right buttons to get the truth out about the baby.

Now with Barker about to call the doctor to find out who the father of the baby is, the drama seems to be heating up now on Isidingo. Can you imagine what will happen when everyone knows that Len is actually the father of the baby?

Cherel comes in peace? I seriously doubt that!

Yesterday, Barker setup a meeting to see Cherel at the Duncan and the two sat down and talked. Cherel was explaining to Barker that she comes back to The Deep in peace and is a changed person and just wants to get on with her life.

You could see that Barker does not buy this at all and neither do I. Cherel is obviously up to something and I guess it is only a matter of time until we find out what her plan is.

But it is always nice to see the all mighty powerful Barker being kept on his toes by Cherel.

There was a moment when we thought that Barker may be dead but they found out that the dead body they found was not Barker’s. Barker was subsequently found but in poor health. He was on the verge of dying as he was drinking too much and not eating. He has since been admitted to hospital and he is being his normal bossy self to Harriette. We know that Barker has nothing left but he is trying to get Harriette to help him ‘escape’ from the hospital he is in and help him start up his life again. Poor Harriette, she has gone through so much with Barker!

Could Barker be dead? A body was found in a ditch in the Deep and they suspect it could be Barkers. Slu was sent to go and identify the body by Georgie and he came back with a pair of shoes, supposedly from the dead body and according to Slu and Georgie, those shoes belonged to Barker. Georgie has since told Priya about this discovery but Priya is not convinced that it is Barker’s body until there is some positive identification. I doubt that Barker could really be dead as that would mean he would no longer be appearing on Isidingo. I am sure we would have heard about Barker leaving Isidingo in the papers or the magazines. Isidingo would just not be the same without Barker. He can’t be dead!

I think it is only a matter of time. Barker really has no options right now but to turn to Faro and take up her offer. Faro has asked Barker to mentor her to become the business tycoon he once was. Faro has some cash to start something but Barker does not believe her. Some viewers have suggested that this is the end of Barker from Isidingo but I am pretty sure Barker is still going to be on our screens for a while to come and he will bounce back.

Barker should just swallow his pride for a change and take this opportunity to kick start his life again.

What a shock! Who would ever have thought that Barker Haines would end up sleeping on the streets, covering himself in cardboard boxes? Well, that is exactly what has happened. Barker has lost everything he had. His last shot was the UK lottery ticket which has now been confiscated.

From drinking single malt whiskey in his penthouse and driving in the latest cars, all off that has come to an end. I guess it just goes to show how funny life can be. One moment you can be up there and the next you will be rock bottom.

But I have a funny feeling that Barker is going to bounce back. He can not be down and out for long. And I think his only way back is through Faro. Watch this space!

We were left on the edge of our seats yesterday when the guy Barker had contracted to kill Dineo was about to pull the trigger. But then Barker was frantically trying to call the guy to stop the execution. I just wonder if Barker made the call in time or it was too late and Dineo is dead. My thinking is that Dineo is not going to get killed and Barker made the call just in time. I can not believe Barker honestly thought of killing his own flesh and blood but I guess he realised that what he was doing was wrong. I just hope he did it in time. Tonight’s episode of Isidingo should not be missed!
